A Religion IPO

A new beginning. Let's ask God to come up with a new religion that we can all agree on. In a way an Initial Public Offering for a new religion we can all worship and believe in. An IPO open to everyone!

I like to ask God to please come up with a new religion. Forget about all past deeds and promises. Let’s start with a clean slate and a new religion so we can all share and stop fighting each other.

Let's ponder on that for a while and let me know what you all think. I warn you to keep an open mind and no insults allowed. Imagine that!

WOW! Soo original .... fantastic ;)

Love the concept ... and specially the images... are these your own??

WOW! I also sooo admire Bertrand Russell :P he was like my first fling in philosophy :D (A History of Western Philosophy) and then the Skeptical Essays :D

So you have made an IPO, hehe this is cool ... but I am amused as to why are you asking god to make a new religion? :P
I mean .... do we already have some prove about all these existing religions coming actually from divine? :D lolz... just a thouht ... but from what evidence we have, it will make no difference if the religion was actually from god or a man/women...

So why ask for it? Why not... make it! :D lolz...

I will heavily invest in this IPO :P as coming from Bertrand Russel, our decisions are based on our strongly held beliefs which most of the time arise from our passions, and as he says that one mans intensity of passion is a result of his lack of conviction based on rational :D

So if people do adopt this new religion, and to be apt new god, then they will follow it with passion, their decisions will be based on their beliefs, these beliefs originating from this religion :D and so if I will have major shares in this it will just be like as if I am pope :D or an apostle :D heheh .... or a saint... where my words might appeal their passions and so in turn their decisions...

they will go to war for this, and they will give up their freedom to think for themselves.... *evil smiles* ^=.=^

hehe... I think this is pretty much the same what happens with every religion, the moment we are in ... I mean in a religion we give up thinking ... we just follow ... we become robots :D

haha... this was an interesting concept of opening an IPO, but to be honest ... you should have made it more understandable and comprehensible ... may be most of the people would not have got it... oh! but then... thats the whole point :P hehe ... if most of the people will get it ... then this religion will not be like usual religions, .... as only a limited number of people in every religion claim to be able to interpret and completely understand it .... so right!
this new religion should have its scriptures... and that must be written in a lingo of economics :D ... lolz... hard for lay men to understand and good for clergy to play along with :D

Good luck with this IPO!!

Hi Esfand! Thanks for visiting and leaving great comments. Sorry, my blog used to email and notify me when someone left a comment, but apparently that is not working (: I just happened to check my blog for a link and that’s when I realized you had visited. So, next I visited your blog and read some of your stuff before coming back here and leaving you this response.
Thank you, but those pictures are not mine, but I did search the net for them for quite a while to find them ;)
You have several good points & I guess I will comment on your comments at a later time. That’s a tough subject (god & religion) so I'll leave it at that for now, but just wanted to thank you and apologize for not responding sooner.

In the same spirit of the moment here is some relevant Youtube segment by one of the BEST:
George Carlin

The Ten Commandments

Religion Is Bullshit

This is for Esfand's sake:
I shall expand on this. That is, the perspective: IPO to happiness and eternal life
I shall make this a unique IPO. Something everyone wished they had bought once it was offered but missed out on the chance. Now they have the chance. Something like a Google of a Microsoft IPO share (there are many companies I could mention, but there is no need for more examples.)
So, to be fare, n one can buy more than ONE share. That’s right! You may ask, why? Well, consider Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway shares (BRK-A.) Most people can’t even afford one share! One reason is, I guess it’s because it never spilt.
The reward actually is not great wealth, big return on investment or lots of money. This IPO is not about money. It’s about a passage to heaven. You can’t put a price on that (reminds me of the Master Card add, “Priceless!”
This ONE share will be your ticket to eternal peace and happiness. It’s a passage to a world beyond this. Nirvana! Paradise! The one share IPO is just a beginning, but it’s not a guarantee. Your deeds in this world will be your resume in the next world. That’s’ not too bad. We are so accustomed to fill out all kinds of application here. So a true resume will be what you’ll be judged by.

Hi Bijan. It was really a very wonderful post. I really like it. I am going to print the last photo of your blog, and post it in my cubicle at work :-) Thanks for it.

:D haha ... Firstly, thanks for making my so many hours go craching in crazy laughter :D
George Carlin is awesome! RIP! I heard him for the first time in that movie, The Zeitgeist, and was amazed by his voice and the way he presented the argument, about god :D where he says, he is all powerful but some how cant manage the money, lol, so he needs lots of money. I digged out each of his standing performance on youtube and saw em all :D just the day you posted this link ....

so tanks for making this a part of my memories! :)

comming to the IPO :D it just got even better, but I think this is the same what the apostles, the prophets and the great religious leaders have been doing :D you have once again put it in the real jargon of the economists or finance students :D a place where it should have been....

but believe me it is as about money for some people as it is about nirvana/paradise for others ;) or lets just say, its about eternal heaven for the common followers but for the leaders and the flag bearers its always about the shine, the plastic and the paper :D ..aka money :D

Thanks again, and I hope you keep comming up with such mind stimulating ideas~

The Euro cup is over, and Wimbledon will be over soon, what was the rest .... well ... dont worry ! :D take ur time ... I am also taking off from the usual critique and argumentation which my blog was actually supposed to be all about :) instead now I am writing about movies :P

so have a wonderful week!

Dear Chakameh and Esfand, thank you both. Glad you liked it.

Esfand,
I have two more recommendations. Both of these movies are really great stories and fantastic movies. The authors and the stories are just out of this world. Doctor Zhivago is over 3 hours long, but it’s worth every minute of it. Try to see the long version, in case there are shorter releases! Love in the time of cholera starts a little slow and silly, but it all adds up after the first 15-20 minutes. These two stories (books) are not just great love stories, but also great literary work of art by Boris Pasternak, 1958 Nobel Prize in Literature and Gabriel Garcia Marquez , also a 1982 winner of Nobel Prize in Literatures.

Hi Bijan !! :D

Thanks .... thanks again! Merci!
:D I did see your post here too and now there on my blog too.
And right now I was searching for the movies in the library :D I was unable to locate Dr. Zhivago in my friends collection, so I just searched the library and its due today, so I guess I will request it tomorrow :D or in the evening if the website shows it back in ....

I will get the other one 'love in the time of cholera' from the free library. :D I guess I am in for a lot more love stories than I expected .... by the way, this love in the time of cholera reminds me of the movie "painted veil" did you see that one? I love Edward Nortons acting, and he did well in that movie too :D

Thanks again for your recomendations, by the way, just a day after I saw Notebook, I remembered that I had seen that movie :P lol, yes I had seen that movie when it was released, thats why I got that strange feeling from some scenes of that movie, but I had forgotten about it :D n watching it again was as if I have never seen it at all.

So Fedrar lost :( ... hope you are now getting more and more time as euro cup is also over ... so hope to see u back here :D

thanks again !

Hey Bijan!

Thanks for visiting my blog and introducing me to yours!

I was in Iran and the connection at my house was so slow that I decided I would resume blog hopping until my return!

A new religion with no insults for the old?

That would be a grand thing indeed!

Esfand` said...

hey.... where r u??
Hope u doing fine ... been long since heard something from u!
Have a good weekend!

Fari: thanks for visiting.
Pedestrian: Welcome back! If it was a way to get any faith honor and not insult (or kill) other faith’s members, then we wouldn’t need a new religion, I think. This would be in God’s hand to wipe out all the old religions and come up with a new one to serve everyone anew.
Esfand: you forgot US Open! Roger Federer did win this time 
